Coffee?

June 29th, 2009 by tom.froning

Feeling GroggySluggish? Need a Jolt?  Is it raining? Chilly? Ahhh Smell that?  COFFEE!!!!  Love it!  It picks me up when I’m down.  Gives me that boost, when its 3:00, and I’m dragging!  It has that oh so unique invigorating aroma!  That warm cup in the hand, on a rainy day feel!  Just like Jesus!  he is my pick me up when I’m down. My refreshment, My go to, My much needed comfort, when life gets rainy, HE is My addiction! Join me for a cup of coffee, a cup of Christ.

Cup of Christ you say? Hmmm….

Not to be too blasphemous, but perhaps if we swapped the little thimbles of juice for shots of java, post-communion worship would be even more lively.

well since you DOUBLE DOG DARED me to comment then here i guess i’ll leave you with this:

DOUBLE-DOG DARE - verb phrase. Also: dog dare, double-black-dog dare, double-dare. Chiefly Southern, Southern Middle. To challenge defiantly. Note: T

Then I’ll have toy triple-dog-dare you.. to get out there and give free hugs and coffee for Christ! just like this:

notice the hand pat on the free hugging video link that Tim sent. Clearly Christ was a more soul full hugger… no hand patting insincerity. rather a Christ hug is one of sincerity…. thank God for that, seriously, i have been thinking what my life would be like with out him recently…. not good… not good. Thank you Jesus!

    Hey Tom.
I agree. It is amazing how He rejuvenates you when you seek Him. With all this rain and dreariness, I, at times have to drag myself to my seat by the window where my Bible is left open- I find having it left open is like He is saying, “I’m right here, come, let me talk with you”. The words almost seem a blur when I start in. I try to remember to ask Him to speak to me and show me what He has to say to me that day and how He wants me to pray. He is ever faithful and I find my day to be set on the right path. There is a huge difference in those days and when I “put it off til later”. No amount of caffeine can help me those days.

Only because i read this and had a reaction,
Even though ive been going through some ups and downs as of late, i find myself giving more advice to kids of my age about Christ. they come to me asking for advice, and the only things i can come up with to help them is how they need to think about how a Christian man or woman should live. normally it works, others i get made fun of, but i think it really has struck home to some people. Keep writing notes Tom, I’ll keep reading them
