John was disappointed to be out of town when the new Pastor Blogs were launched (at least, as disappointed as one can be on a tropical vacation).  In his stead, the administration/web team has prepared a brief introduction so you can get acquainted with him.  Meet John Wiswell, dec’s Adult Minister and Administrator.

John lives in Nemarket with his lovely wife of 23 years, Lori. They are blessed with two grown children, two high schoolers, and one adorable granddaughter. John has a knack for fixing or building almost anything after many years in the field of construction. He loves to read, and camp, and laugh (as evidenced by the banner photo above). And John enjoys speed, both on his bicycle his motorcycle. He’s been hanging around dec since 1989 and has served as pastor for eleven years.

The titles of Adult Minister and Administrator only scratch the surface of the many ways John tirelessly serves the body at dec, and John is never one to be content to just scratch the surface. As Adult Minister, John facilitates a whole host of ministries including Small Groups, Men’s and Women’s Ministries, and Celebrate Recovery. As Administrator, discernment and integrity characterize John’s work with all the ministries and staff of dec as well as a whole set of administrative teams like the Tech Team, the Web Team, and the Building Team. In his “spare time” he also serves as Chaplain for Newmarket Fire & Rescue bringing hope and comfort in critical incidents. Above all, John has a passion for seeing lives changed for and by Christ.
