Question: What Role Does The Bible Play In Daily Life?
Thursday, July 23rd, 2009
I often pray, “God let me see the Scripture in this.” When I’m in some kind of relational situation or counseling someone or facing an opportunity in my life, I ask God to show me true wisdom by bringing to mind Bible verses that apply to what I’m seeing.
Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly…”
So what role, if any, does the Bible play in your life?

Question: Do You Believe The Bible Is Literally True?
Tuesday, July 21st, 2009
A 2007 Gallup poll reports that 31% of Americans believe the Bible is literally true (just somewhat higher than the 19% that believe it is ancient fables, history & legends). Interestingly, 43% of those who attend church weekly stated they believe the Bible to be “inspired by the Word of God” or “the inspired Word of God” but not to be taken literally.

Question: What Are Your Reading Recommendations?
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009
I need to read more. Reading sharpens the mind, broadens the perspective and strengthens the reader. Now, I’m usually reading something, but lately I’ve let life grab me by the throat and toss my schedule around like a limp dishrag. But I need to make a comeback.
So I’m thinking of starting with John Piper’s Life As A Vapor, but I’m not sure. So tell me if you have any must-reads on your reading list.

Question: Are You Fatherless?
Friday, May 22nd, 2009
Some of you who know me will know there’s a whole lot more wrapped into this post than I’ll write here. It may tell you enough to note that I’m literally crying as I type this. I will surely write and ask more about this topic, but today I’m simply going to ask - are you fatherless?
If so, would you tell your story?
And then be sure to go read this post at my friend Danielle Carrier’s blog called The Ultimate Father.

Question: How Do You Worship & Seek God In Pain?
Monday, May 11th, 2009
Last week I watched 2 specials on Michael J. Fox and his fight against Parkinson’s Disease. Both emphasized his passion to find a cure and his optimism about life in general.
In my own life, I have probably caused more pain than I have experienced. But I believe that intensely valuable lessons can be learned from those who have experienced pain (physical or emotional) and yet, through it, sought God and worshiped Him.
So if you’re one of those people, I’d love to hear the lessons you’ve learned as you sought God in the sanctuary of your own pain.
