Recording Project Update
March 10th, 2010Our first recording project, tentatively titled My Father’s Face, is nearing the end of the actual “recording” phase. We have recorded almost everything, except a flute part, a couple vocals and some guitars. After that comes mixing, mastering and replication (if you’re interested!).
Everyone is working very hard to make a great CD (or, hopefully, downloadable album) that will be a blessing to our church and our neighbors and, Lord willing, possibly to other churches too. It’s been great to work together on this, praying before each recording session, cracking up during “outtakes” (we could make a whole CD of outtakes), and just worshiping while recording.
I hope we’ll have this album ready within 8 weeks.
It’s been a great experience so far, and I’ve just rejoiced at the opportunity to use some of my creative juices in a way I haven’t done for a long time (it’s been 16 years since I last recorded!). I’m very proud of everyone’s work on the record (yes, I called it a record - and for you kids, that’s just short for “recording.” It has nothing to do with big vinyl “CDs”.)
But then again, I’m very proud of the work people are doing throughout the worship ministry, from faithfully serving the body during worship services to children’s worship leading and Celebrate Recovery worship leading and youth worship leading to sermon CD-making. I can’t wait to see what God has in store. And to Him be all the glory.

Of course, “Forever My God” might be a good name, too … ; - )

Hey, us “kids” still call them records these days! haha. At least I do anyway.
I’m really excited about this as well. Can’t wait til it’s “mass produced” haha.
P.S. I know what it’s like to have outtakes… happens to me and Tim all the time

My Father’s Face is a great album title! Great choice. I’m looking forward to listening to and sharing the CD with friends and family as soon as it is out. Thanks for keeping us posted! Praying that God continues the work He has started in the hearts each person who will listen to the DEC recording project. May God be glorified!

The Information Centers will be a welcome home for any recording we can offer to visitors as well as DEC family folks. So many requests in the past for a copy of our music and worship songs…PTL. What a blessing this will be to so many.
