What A Great Palm Sunday

April 5th, 2009 by Chris

I hope you had as great a day of worship as I did. First of all, I love the sight of the church in worship. Psalm 33:1 says,

Shout for joy in the Lord, O you righteous!
Praise befits the upright. (ESV)

or

Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. (KJV)

And I have to agree: praise makes the church look great!

But I especially loved the chance to lead the kids in worship. They are some of my favorite people in the church, and they were lifting it up to Jesus today:

He knows me
He loves me
He wants me
He hears me when I call

He formed me
He sees me
Never leaves me
He hears me when I call.*

Yeah, today was a great day.  God is a great God.  Hosanna!

i share similar thoughts about witnessing the children sing songs of praise to our lord.. their ability to ‘belt it out to the lord…’ with out any fear and angst was very inspiring to me. and for the 1st time an a while i ‘let myself loose’ and allowed the spirit to flow..just like the children were able to not be hindered in song, or embarrassed to sing.. praising god through song is a unique way i feel connected to the spirit.. and today i was hooked!.. hosanna.. yes today was great!!

The looks on some of the kids’ faces were priceless…Absolutely priceless…What a simple, innocent picture of worship for us “big people,” who, let’s face it, are often wayyyy more distractable when it comes to focusing on God…

@Theresa T: We could learn a few things from the kids, couldn’t we? I’m going to pursue more of that “wide-eyed” approach they had when I come to God!

@Tim: Why do we adults (even “secure” ones) tend to get so hung up on what people think about us when giving thanks and praise to the God who literally rescued us from hell and gave us and unimaginable, permanent future with him?!
