Never. I’m not sure that this “Internet” thing is going to catch on, you know?
Well, actually … I’m on Facebook and blog at Wordpress.
Not that you didn’t already know that, but I figured I’d get the ball rolling.

Given that I followed a link on facebook to get here, count me as a resounding “yes”.
But I don’t see whats so great about Twitter.

I am now on Facebook. I used to use MySpace, but it got to disgusting. I haven’t been twitterized yet, but it could happen.

I definitely use Facebook, being a college student and whatnot
And I do have a blog, but am reeeallly bad about keeping up with it…And Twitter has recently become a part of my life, but I don’t update it terribly frequently…

I’m on facebook from time to time, but I lack the steadfastness to keep up with my own blog, let alone twitter.

I signed up for facebook about a month ago, but I don’t use it. The last time I logged in was about 2 1/2 weeks ago.

I too use facebook, which is how I found out about these blogs
And, being a college student, it is almost essential. Twitter, not so much. And I have a blog, but can’t find the time to update it very often. I love reading other people’s though, so I’m really excited to see DEC blogs up and running!

Chris, thanks for asking the question.. as you know I am actively involved in many aspects of social networks both personally and professionally.
I use my Facebook http://profile.to/timgolden account for connecting with family, friends and colleagues from around the world. I also connect with other church tech people through our Church Tech Matters Facebook Group http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2546577632&pwstdfy=a619dc2900caa6615b7a1242586b6a28 where we share thoughts and ideas around church and technology.
With Twitter http://twitter.com/goldeneye I use to sharpen my leaderships skills by following great leaders like Dave Ramsey http://twitter.com/TownHallForHope , gain spiritual development by following awesome pastors http://twitter.com/tonymorganlive http://twitter.com/PastorMark and http://twitter.com/singlouder and technical skills from http://twitterforchurches.com http://twitter.com/techcrunch & http://twitter.com/problogger Twitter has been a great asset to my personal growth professional, technically and spiritually. Though there are many skeptics about its use I believe that can be a powerful tool to reach, learn and grow.
I also use LinkedIn http://www.linkedin.com/in/timothygolden for my connecting to professional network of colleagues.
The push for social networks around the world today is amazing, now many/most well known news outlets, industry leaders and professionals are capitalizing on the interactivity of Web 2.x technology. There are many churches learning how to leverage these technologies within their ministry, some are doing quite well with them. Take for instance http://www.lifechurch.tv and their huge network of online teaching.
As a lover of technology and a follower of Jesus, I enjoy when technology can help reach people for God. I’m always reminded of what Jesus did while on earth with us… he met us where we are at.. in our homes, in our streets, in our lives. He used the “social networks’ of their time to meet the sinners like me wherever he went. Today so many people are involved with social technologies that I believe it’s imperative that the Body of Christ learn how to use these tools to meet people where there are at, just like Jesus met me where I was at when I gave my life to him.
I look forward to seeing how some of these technologies play out over the next few years both at dec and the Body as a whole..

Thanks for the comments, all. I’m really curious about this throughout our church as a whole, and especially among college and high school students (come on, guys, chime in!). Looks like Facebook is in the lead so far!

I use facebook and keep connected with others here from DEC… and my daughter in HS uses facebook and so do many other of the kids in the HS youth group. They actually use the chat part of it quite a bit! A little too much… my daughter is a chat addict!
